Looking to find a different career path, or solidify the one you're already on? I CAN-T.E.R. is the site of the Ministry Approved Agricultural Apprenticeship Horse Groom 600H Program. This is a 13 week (402 hour) theoretical and practical agricultural apprenticeship running Monday-Friday from 9:30 am-3:30pm.
This unique program offers a mix of in-class theory and hands-on application of skills on the farm to ensure that you are truly confident going into the horse industry. Topics include Horse History, Behaviour and Psychology; Horse Handling and Safety, Stable Management, Tack and Equipment, First Aid, Nutrition, Lunging Techniques, Grooming and so much more!
Similar programs at other institutions cost upwards of $2000.00, but I CAN-T.E.R. offers this program at no-cost to you - TUITION FREE!

All ages and experience levels are welcomed - only requirement is a Grade 12 OSSD or Equivalency. Suitable for individuals with varying goals and levels of experience; whether you're looking to advance your qualifications in the industry, retired and looking to start a hobby farm or simply interested in learning more about horses - this is the program for you!

Adult Agricultural Day Program
I CAN-T.E.R.'s Agricultural Day Program provides skill development in a supervised, supportive and therapeutic environment for Adults with barriers. This program features a low client-to-staff ratio in a therapeutic, agricultural setting. The program fosters independence, encourages learning and develops transferable life-skills and employable skills.
Educational Activities include Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Grounds and Maintenance. Benefits include employable skill development, access to learning resources and professionals, transferable and technical skill development, increased independence and career development.
Schedule: Monday and Fridays from 9:30 am-3:30 pm (except statutory holidays)
This is a fee for service program. Passport and similar funding may apply.
