I CAN-T.E.R. is proud to be an Approved Training Delivery Agency for the Horse Groom Apprenticeship Program through Skilled Trades Ontario. 

Looking to find a different career path, or solidify the one you're already on?

Join us for  a 13 week (402 hour) theoretical and practical training program.

This unique program offers a mix of in-class theory and hands-on training with horses to build the skills necessary to work in the equine industry.

 Topics include Horse History, Behavior and Psychology; Horse Handling and Safety, Stable Management, Hoof Care,  Tack and Equipment, First Aid,  Lameness, Nutrition, Training Methods, Lunging, Grooming Techniques, Horse Anatomy, Equine Dentition, Breeding and Foaling, and so much more!


Program requirements; Grade 12 OSSD or Equivalency and an Ontario Residents Suitable for individuals with varying goals and levels of experience;

Adult Agricultural Day Program

I CAN-T.E.R.'s Agricultural Day Program provides skill development in a supervised, supportive and therapeutic environment for Adults with barriers. This program features a low client-to-staff ratio in a therapeutic, agricultural setting. The program fosters independence, encourages learning and develops transferable life-skills and employable skills. 

Educational Activities include Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Grounds and Maintenance. Benefits include employable skill development, access to learning resources and professionals, transferable and technical skill development, increased independence and career development. 

Schedule: Monday and Fridays from 9:30 am-3:30 pm (except statutory holidays)

Cost: $40.00/day

This is a fee for service program. Passport and similar funding may apply.
