OUR STORY

"I Can" Therapeutic Equestrian Riding Association of Niagara, Inc. or better known as

I CAN-T.E.R. was founded in January 1993 by Domenic and Diane Paonessa. It is a non-profit, charitable organization located at 1234 House Road, Ridgeway, Ontario.

It was envisioned that the entire farm would provide an atmosphere where individuals facing barriers could flourish. The wonders of the woods, the creek, the marsh, the gardens would all become part of a very hands-on experience for all who visit. Many “special moments” have taken place over the years which have reinforced our vision. Our horses have become “special friends” to individuals who have participated in our programs.

The benefits of using nature, horses and horse-related activities to accomplish therapeutic goals was immediately embraced by the community.

Today I CAN-T.E.R. continues to offer Agricultural Based Therapeutic and Wellness Programming in the Niagara Region. They specialize in Therapy and Rehabilitation, Education and Training, Recreation and Leisure. The farm provides the perfect setting for Alternative Education and unique individualized and group programming.

I CAN-T.E.R. continues to strive to provide and develop programs for those with a variety of barriers, disabilities and limitations while supporting the friends and families of these individuals. I CAN-T.E.R. dedicated to providing a healthy environment for personal growth and development.

It is because of the commitment, dedication and support of many within Niagara, that

I CAN-T.E.R. is in existence today. It is our hope that the vision will remain before our eyes and close to our hearts!
